How Spurside Started (and Where It’s Going!)

Hi everyone! I’m so glad you’re here — seriously, it means a lot that you’re taking the time to check out Spurside.

I’ve always been a creative person. Growing up, I was the kid with scrapbooking supplies everywhere, making friendship bracelets, painting, doing ceramics — I just loved making things with my hands. But I was also super into sports, and ended up playing volleyball in college. That kept me pretty busy (to say the least), so my artistic side had to take a bit of a backseat for a while.

After I graduated and retired from volleyball, I finally had the space to reconnect with that creative side — and that’s when Spurside started. I wasn’t totally sure what I wanted to do, but I knew I wanted to build something people could really connect with. Something thoughtful, personal, and handmade.

I grew up in Kentucky, spent a few years in Tennessee, and even though I’m nowhere near the ocean, I’ve always had a thing for the beach. (My coastal-decorated house in the middle of Kentucky kind of says it all.)

Spurside is a mix of all of that — where I’m from, what I love, and what I’ve always been drawn to. (Name credit goes to my boyfriend, by the way.) Right now, it’s all jewelry: simple, beachy pieces made with a lot of heart.

Eventually, I’d love to expand into clothing and home decor too. I’ve got a lot of ideas and I’m excited to keep creating and growing.
